The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has paid a glowing tribute to legendary American gospel singer and worship leader, Ron Kenoly, following his passing at the age of 81.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the death of the globally celebrated gospel icon was confirmed on Tuesday, sparking an outpouring of tributes from gospel music communities, Christian leaders, and worshippers around the world.
In a heartfelt post shared on his official Facebook page, PFN President, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, eulogised the life, ministry, and spiritual depth of the late worship leader, describing him as “a true worshipper who gave his life to the glory of God.”
According to Bishop Wale Oke, Ron Kenoly walked in exceptional spiritual maturity and devotion.
The PFN President noted that Kenoly’s ministry was marked by a tangible sense of God’s presence, adding that his worship lifted hearts and nations into reverence and adoration
Bishop Oke also recalled hosting the late gospel singer on several occasions in Nigeria and other international platforms, where Kenoly ministered passionately to the Body of Christ.
While acknowledging the pain of his passing, the PFN President encouraged believers to find comfort in the assurance of a life faithfully devoted to God.
He further emphasized that Ron Kenoly’s legacy would continue to speak through generations.
Bishop Wale Oke also extended condolences to the Kenoly family, praying for divine comfort, strength, and peace during the difficult period. He concluded with a comforting Scripture from Revelation 14:13, affirming that the works of the righteous follow them.

Born on December 6, 1944, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Ron Kenoly rose to international prominence in the late 20th century and became one of the most influential voices in contemporary praise and worship music.
He was globally known for his powerful live worship recordings and energetic, choir-backed performances that inspired congregational participation and heartfelt worship.
Kenoly released over 20 albums during his illustrious career, including Jesus Is Alive (1991), Ancient of Days (1992), God Is Able (1994), Sing Out With One Voice (1995), Welcome Home (1996), and High Places: The Best of Ron Kenoly.
His music and ministry transcended borders, reaching churches across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas, where his songs became staples in modern worship services.
Beyond music, Ron Kenoly also served as a respected pastor and worship leader at Jubilee Christian Centre in San Jose, California, and featured prominently at international worship conferences, seminars, and church events.
His life remains a testament to worship, service, and unwavering devotion to God.
