Northern CAN Hails Release of Abducted Kaduna Worshippers
Association praises Governor Uba Sani and security agencies for decisive leadership and successful rescue operation
The Northern chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has celebrated the safe release of worshippers abducted from Kurmin Wali community in Kaduna State, describing the development as a moment of divine grace for the Church and the affected communities.
The association said the return of the victims brought an end to days of fear, tension, and uncertainty that followed the abduction, reassuring Christians and residents of God’s intervention and renewed security efforts.
In a statement issued in Kaduna, the Chairman of Northern CAN, Reverend Joseph Hayab, commended Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for what he described as decisive, compassionate, and people-centred leadership throughout the crisis.
Hayab noted that the governor demonstrated genuine concern for the plight of the victims and their families, a response he said stood in sharp contrast to previous instances where citizens were allegedly neglected or intimidated during similar security challenges.

He further praised Governor Sani for keeping his word and showing empathy during the ordeal.
Northern CAN also lauded the efforts of the security agencies involved in the rescue operation, including the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and other security operatives.
According to the association, the successful operation was a result of professionalism, dedication, and effective inter-agency collaboration, while urging sustained efforts to prevent future attacks on religious communities.
In addition, Northern CAN extended its appreciation to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Director-General of the DSS, Mr. Adeola Ajayi, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their respective roles in ensuring the safety and protection of citizens across the country.
