CAN, Kaduna Government Host Carol as Governor Highlights Faith, Peace, and Developmental Achievements

Governor Uba Sani has fulfilled his promise by attending the 2025 Christmas Carol organized by the

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government. The event, held at the Umaru Yarádua Conference Centre, brought together various Christian denominations in prayer and song.

Speaking at the gathering, Governor Sani noted that this was his third time sharing in the sacred moment with the Christian family in Kaduna. He emphasized that faith remains one of the most enduring bridges to unity, healing, and collective progress.

The Governor described Christmas as more than a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, but a season of love, sacrifice, humility, compassion, and selfless service—virtues that transcend religious boundaries and strengthen shared humanity.

He stressed that his attendance was driven by conviction and commitment, adding that such gatherings renew hope and reconnect citizens to timeless values. “I stand before you not merely as your Governor, but as a fellow citizen seeking renewed inspiration at a season of profound meaning,” he said.

Governor Sani praised religious leaders and faithful across Kaduna for their role in sustaining peace and stability, choosing dialogue over division and unity over suspicion. He maintained that hosting the Christmas Carol symbolizes openness, inclusion, and progress, positioning Kaduna as a model of faith-driven unity and diversity.

Reaffirming his vow made on May 29, 2023, to serve all citizens without fear or favour, he highlighted his administration’s achievements:

  • Infrastructure: 85 roads completed or advanced in Phase One (785 km), and over 50 additional roads and bridges launched in Phase Two (550 km).
  • Healthcare: 255 Primary Health Care Centres upgraded to Level Two status, alongside the commissioning of a 300-bed Specialist Hospital named after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
  • Agriculture: Budget allocation increased from less than 1% in 2023 to 12% in the 2026 budget, surpassing the Malabo Declaration target. Kaduna was also selected as the pilot state for the Nigeria–China Poultry Project.

Governor Sani concluded by urging Kaduna to continue standing as a beacon of unity, diversity, and progress, while promising to attend future editions of the Christmas Carol throughout his tenure.
