African Gospel Film Festival Secures Global Partnerships
AICFF builds bridges for African filmmakers with ICVM, Dallas showcase, and mentorship programs.
Global Spotlight for African Gospel Films
Africa International Christian Film Festival (AICFF) has announced landmark partnerships that will elevate African gospel films to international platforms. The festival aims to position Africa as a creative powerhouse in Christian cinema.
ICVM Crown Awards Partnership
AICFF signed a strategic alliance with International Christian Visual Media (ICVM), one of the world’s most influential Christian media organizations. Under this agreement, the Best Feature Film at AICFF will automatically qualify for the Best International Film category at the ICVM Crown Awards. This breakthrough removes barriers that have long limited African filmmakers from global recognition.

Dallas Showcase for African Films
The festival also confirmed collaboration with the Content Media Conference in Dallas, Texas. In 2026, the top three films from AICFF will be screened during a dedicated African Showcase. One film will receive special recognition, giving African filmmakers direct access to distributors, streaming platforms, studio executives, and investors. This exposure could unlock new funding and distribution channels for faith-driven African content.
Mentorship and Talent Development
Beyond awards and screenings, AICFF is investing in talent development. Through a partnership with Christ Over Career (COC), acclaimed Christian actors Cameron Arnett and BJ Arnett will mentor emerging African filmmakers and actors. The mentorship program, implemented under AICFF and the Africa Gospel Film Project (AGFP), blends professional excellence with faith-centered leadership. Organizers believe this approach is vital for building a sustainable Christian film ecosystem.
A Turning Point for Africa’s Creative Economy
Festival convener Bright Wonder Obasi emphasized the significance of these partnerships. He stated, “Africa is not simply a recipient of global missions; it is a creative powerhouse with stories that can shape culture and inspire faith worldwide.”
What to Expect at AICFF 2026
Scheduled for June 3–6 in Abuja, AICFF 2026 will feature:
- Film screenings and awards
- An African Christian film market
- Masterclasses and talent labs
- Networking sessions with global investors and collaborators
Obasi described the festival as more than an event. “With international exposure, structured mentorship, and market integration at its core, AICFF is positioning itself as a launchpad for African faith-based films seeking global relevance and commercial viability,” he said.
