Bishop Malau Calls for Transparent Elections
The Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) Bishop, Rt. Rev. Nelson Malau, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure credible 2027 elections. Furthermore, he stressed that sincerity and the fear of God must guide the electoral process.
“INEC must ensure sincerity and the fear of God in the conduct of the 2027 elections so Nigerians can freely elect candidates of their choice,” he said.
He made the remarks during the closing ceremony of the church’s Annual Convention in Numan Local Government Area, Adamawa State.
Security Challenges in Adamawa
The Bishop expressed concern over recent attacks in Hong and Madagali Local Government Areas. He also highlighted the security breach in Lamurde Local Government Area. Therefore, he called on security agencies to intensify protection of lives and property.
“The safety of citizens must remain a top priority ahead of 2027 elections,” he said.
He also commended the Adamawa State Government for ongoing efforts to maintain security.
