The singer explains why the resurrection, not the crucifixion, defines his Christian faith.
Nigerian singer Korede Bello has opened up about his Christian faith, sharing a heartfelt reflection that has stirred meaningful conversations among believers and social media users.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the “Godwin” crooner spoke passionately about the significance of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, stating that Christ no longer belongs on the cross because His sacrifice has already been completed.
Bello clarified that his message was not a rejection of the cross but a deeper emphasis on the finished work of Christ.
“Does Jesus still belong on the cross? Before you crucify me, please be aware that I am a Christian and Christ has already died for me. He has already been crucified for me, so there will be no need for that,” he said.
He further explained that while the cross remains important in Christian history, believers should focus more on the resurrection, which is the foundation of their faith.
According to Korede Bello, the message came during a moment of prayer and reflection when he realized that Jesus is no longer on the cross but seated at the right hand of God the Father.
“I was praying and looking at the cross when it hit me that He’s no longer on it. When I think Jesus, I think my identity is seated right next to the Father. That’s where I am,” he added.
The singer also referenced the Apostle Paul’s teaching, emphasizing that Christianity loses its meaning without the resurrection.
“If Christ has not risen, then your faith is futile,” Bello quoted.
In the same reflection, Korede Bello revealed a personal detail about his spiritual journey, sharing that he was born and raised a Muslim before embracing Christianity. He explained that his conversion came through personal study and understanding of the Bible.
His testimony has since drawn admiration from many fans, with several praising his boldness and depth of spiritual insight.
