Christmas Message: Makinde’s Wife Urges Oyo Children to Embrace Love, Kindness, and Hard Work

Oyo First Lady describes Christmas as a season of reflection, compassion, and giving rooted in the life of Jesus Christ

The Wife of the Oyo State Governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, has urged children across the state to embrace love, kindness, honesty, and hard work as essential values for building a brighter future.

Mrs Makinde described Christmas as a season of reflection, love, and selfless giving, deeply rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, whose compassion and sacrifice remain timeless lessons for humanity.

She made the call while speaking at a Christmas party organised for children in Oyo State, held in Ibadan. The Governor’s wife was represented at the event by the Wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Ajibola Lawal.

According to her, Christmas is a special period that brings people together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, who exemplified love, humility, and compassion during His earthly ministry.

Mrs Makinde reminded the children of their vital role in shaping the future of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole, encouraging them to live purposeful and value-driven lives.

“You are the leaders of tomorrow. Embrace honesty and hard work, and always strive to be the best version of yourselves,” she added.

She further encouraged the children to cultivate kindness and empathy, stressing that even small acts of love can create meaningful and lasting impact in society.
